Our Book Example for this Walk-Through
Within this article, I’ll walk with you as we create a title, book outline, chapter outlines, and create draft content. The example project we’ll use here is a book on resilience. Why resilience? Because when you create your first book, you will also have strengthened your confidence and resilience, something that will be part of you for life.
When you first approach writing a book, your first step is to determine your topic—a crucial phase that lays the foundation for your literary journey. As I noted above, our topic is RESILIENCE.

The Book Title
With QuickWrite’s title generator tool, you’ll breathe new life into your brainstorming sessions. In less time than it takes to enjoy your morning coffee, the tool delivers ten potential book titles tailored to your selected subject. This is more than just a clever trick; it’s the springboard you need to dive into your project with enthusiasm and purpose. Selecting a title that resonates with you is not only an exciting moment, but a way to solidify your commitment to the project.
As shown in the QuickWrite title tool on the left, I wrote, “Resilience to Overcome Life Challenge”. From here, QuickWrite provides 10 titles in seconds. If the perfect title isn’t there, press the “Generate Content” button again for 10 more.

The Nonfiction Book Outline
Once you choose a title, your next step is to have QuickWrite create a detailed book outline. This outline serves as a chapter-by-chapter roadmap, offering a panoramic view of your finished book. Think of it as your personal guide, shaping ideas in your mind into a tangible structure. This transformation from “idea” to a “work in progress” can invigorate your creative spirit, propelling you to dive deeper into your research and writing.
Equipped with a solid outline, you’re now ready to break down the content of your book into digestible segments. The chapter outline by QuickWrite will serve as your blueprint. As you can see on the left, for the book outline, I used the selected book title, “The Resilient Mind: Strategies for Overcoming Life’s Challenges.”
QuickWrite then created a 15-Chapter book outline:

The Chapter Outline
For this section, I’m using the first book outline topic “Understanding Resilience” to create the Chapter Outline.
QuickWrite created seven sub-topics under the first section:
- Defining Resilience: Explore the meaning of resilience, distinguishing it from related concepts like toughness and adaptability, and outlining its psychological and emotional components.
- The Science of Resilience: Discuss the research findings on resilience, including how it is developed and what factors contribute to a person’s ability to bounce back from adversity.
- Resilience in Daily Life: Illustrate how resilience manifests in everyday situations, from handling stress at work to facing personal challenges, and provide relatable examples.
- The Benefits of Being Resilient: Examine the positive outcomes associated with resilience, such as improved mental health, better coping strategies, and stronger relationships.
- Building Resilience: Offer practical strategies and techniques for cultivating resilience, including positive thinking, mindfulness, self-care, and social support.
- Resilience in Different Contexts: Highlight the importance of resilience across various domains of life, such as family, career, and education, showcasing how it applies to different age groups and cultures.
- Resilience as a Lifelong Skill: Conclude with a discussion on viewing resilience as an ongoing journey rather than a fixed trait, emphasizing the continuous nature of personal growth and adaptation.
To clarify any confusion:
- Book Title: The Resilient Mind: Strategies for Overcoming Life's Challenges
- Book Outline Part 1: Understanding Resilience.
- Chapter Outline Part 1: Defining Resilience.

Chapter Content Sections
It’s now time to let QuickWrite create content for each sub-topic within the chapters. Chapter 1, Part 1 is “Defining Resilience”. I expanded it a bit to give the AI Model a better idea of what I’m looking for. Given that, I used, “Defining Resilience: Understanding Its Core Elements”. (See the Content Section image on the left).
The content below is only Part 1 of 7 parts of the first chapter. Keep in mind that this working example has 15 chapters and the first chapter has seven parts. When AI content is provided, it's important as the author to read, check for accuracy and be sure to edit so that the book text has your perspectives.
