A.S. –
Renewing your mind by Anthony Davis is an excellent book. It is authentic, vulnerable and powerful at the same time. It is a brilliant explanation of hypnosis supported by real life stories.
I would highly recommend this book to:
1. People who are considering hypnosis, but are not sure about it and would like to learn more about what hypnosis is, what it is not and how to find the right hypnotist for them.
2. Current hypnosis clients, who don’t know how to explain hypnosis to their friends and family members, coworkers, PCPs, pastors etc. Did you ever say: “I don’t how to explain it, but it’s working for me and all these wonderful changes are happening.” Get this book and it will provide you with an easy way to explain the positive shift in your life to others.
3. Physicians, licensed therapists, and of course to all of the hypnotists out there. Even though you might have years of experience in this field, this is an opportunity to learn from a top notch hypnotist and a man of honor.

Renewing Your Mind is a phenomenal read and I recommend it to anyone that is on the fence regarding hypnosis. The author eloquently presents the facts of what hypnosis is and isn’t, and the many misconceptions regarding hypnosis all while keeping a firm foundation of Christian faith.
This is written to be informative, educational, and insightful, and I believe this book is for anyone wanting to understand the mind and the positive benefits of hypnosis as a tool to overcome negative experiences or stumbling blocks in ones life.
Additionally, the wealth of information provided would greatly assist individuals in making an informed decision that hypnosis is a viable resource that can bring about lasting change.

Great Perspective. Understanding how judgement harms others and our faith personally and the church is a perspective rarely discussed. I recommend this to anyone who studies holistic medicine or wants to encourage and help others as people of faith.

In full disclosure, the author presented me with a review copy of his book, which I highly recommend for anyone seeking to learn the truth about hypnosis and its healing benefits. Anthony M. Davis takes a genuine, conversational approach to the topic, noting that before he understood hypnosis himself he, too, was a skeptic.
He leads the reader on a journey of discovery in which he shatters the myths and shares the truth about this effective modality, backed up by real-life examples of clients who’ve experienced breakthroughs and transformed their lives. From his Christian perspective, the author explains how his practice of hypnosis aligns with Biblical principles and avoids all areas of concerns for those of the Christian faith.
It’s especially heartening to learn that hypnosis can work for those suffering the consequences of early childhood trauma and all forms of abuse. As the author points out, God created us to live full, productive lives. He is certainly working diligently with the Creator to assist those who come to him for help to reclaim their emotional, mental and physical health, and I applaud him for his efforts and his patience in dealing with judgmental members of the church who simply will not see — even when he explains hypnosis in detail, with respect for their concerns.
If you are open-minded and desire a solid understanding of the inner-workings of the mind and brain, and the many healing effects of hypnosis, read this book.

I would highly recommend this book. A must read for anyone needing a clearer understanding of what hypnosis is and is not. The author focuses on hypnosis from a Christian perspective. Recognizing the value of a safe and natural process and understanding the science of the brain and how this works is important, its not the “Hypnosis is Bad” or the crazy stuff you may have seen on TV. The author provides several examples of real life situations where he has helped save lives. I would highly recommend this book.

A Great Truth. This book has brought a clear insight to the safety of Hypnosis, and the power of the persons own mind to bring about change within them self. It has clearly demonstrated that Hypnosis is natural and aids as a guiding tool for those who are “stuck”, and don’t know how to change. As a Christian, I find Hypnosis to be a valuable self help tool. It allows the individual to decide for them self what they want to change, and what they want to let go. The power of the mind can keep one trapped in a bad place, until they are taught how to relax and let it go. This book has portrayed not only a duty to God, but also doing good towards humanity itself. Self help, free of medications, accompanied by a strong faith, along with a trust for the Hypnotist seem to be the way to emotional freedom. The privacy between both demonstrates that to me. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has doubt, or fear, and wants to step out of their comfort zone to help themselves heal. I chose 5 stars as a rating because I feel the Author has demonstrated with proficiency why Christians should not form opinions against something they don’t know about. He demonstrated in his own words, his ability to help others to overcome barriers, and move into a better tomorrow. This book actually made me think, and reflect on some of the habits that I have accumulated along the way. The stories and untruths instilled from childhood, can be undone and a better life can be obtained. You just have to take the first step.

What you should know about hypnosis from a Christian Hypnotist! Anthony is a very talented & creative person. His descriptions of what hypnosis really is, is spot on. The reader can accurately learn about hypnosis and what it is or isn’t. Many Christians have shied away from hypnosis due to poor portrayals of it in old time movies, books and TV shows. As a Christian, Anthony seeks to educate the reader about how hypnosis works with our Christian beliefs. Anthony is also an outstanding practitioner of hypnosis. This book instills confidence in the reader about hypnosis.

An interesting book about emotional healing from a Christ-centered perspective. I appreciate the author’s discussions of the need for those who profess to be Christians to become more informed of the facts about hypnosis and to be careful how we judge others, specifically those who help to heal others through hypnotherapy. Above all, I found this to be an uplifting message of hope.

As a Christian, I carried the misperception that hypnosis was not a “safe” or “Christian” practice. That giving your mind over to another human to influence could be dangerous and allow us to be spiritually controlled in some way. This book has helped me to gain an understanding of what hypnosis is, and also what it isn’t. I discovered that in hypnosis, a person is still in control of their own mind. They will not do anything they don’t want to do. Hypnosis is a natural, drug free tool that can be used to release the negative things that prevent us from healthy relationships, careers, and fulfilling the purpose we were made for!
Who we choose to partner with is in this is just as important. You would want to choose and partner with a practitioner who’s belief system aligns with your own.
Hypnosis is one modality that can bring significant healing to those who have faced abuses, or have embraced false beliefs about their own value.
The author takes you through his own journey, and explains in detail how this practice, while approached differently by different practitioners can greatly benefit people in their journey toward a mentally and emotionally healthy state!
He also talks about questions to ask and points to look for in a practitioner.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is a Christian and wants to know more about hypnosis.

Excellent!! Hypnosis is not what you have stuck in your mind from a junior high assembly when your teachers were put under! Mr. Davis wrote this book with personal feeling, empathy and most of all faith. After reading this book there is no reason to think that hypnosis is anything but a natural, very powerful process in healing. I highly recommend this book!

I wanted to find out if it was OK for a Christian to be hypnotized. In short, yes, if the hypnotist avoids things like past life regression (we have one life through Jesus), then this can be a safe, effective, beneficial tool. Having read the book, (and now 2 sessions in with Anthony), I can attest that this book helped me understand that it’s OK to prayerfully seek out hypnotic help when you are searching for breakthrough.
Well written, gets to the point, and doesn’t pull punches. I highly recommend it!

The author did a great job explaining hypnosis and what to look for (as a Christian) when seeking hypnotherapy.
There are so many legalistic Christians that love to criticize hypnotherapy without understanding what it is.
Peter was put into a trance when he received revelation from God.
We are to renew our minds, but often can’t do that with just telling ourselves truth. We need the subconscious involved to renew our minds. Hypnosis is one way to get there.
Highly recommend for the curious Christian.
