Write your goals

Write Your Goals and Take Action Now

Write your goals. If you’ve been following our series, then you’ve likely been “Cleaning House” within both your environment and your mind, you’ve swept the sidewalk that was once overgrown with crabgrass and weeds.

A Clear Path

There’s now a clear path ahead to begin change today. Make a choice to write the goals you want to enjoy in your life and take action. It doesn’t matter how you do it. I prefer a steno pad. I write them down on the left side of the sheet. On the right side, I jot down notes about things I become aware of that I may need to do. Or, in some cases, I write the little indicators that show my goal is coming to fruition.  You might decide to use post-it notes and move them around as your priorities shift. Others use digital notes on their smartphone or tablet.

Whatever works for you.

I’m a fan of writing down big goals and then breaking them down into smaller pieces. That way I enjoy more mini-successes when I reach them. Another person might choose smaller goals so when they achieve it, they can set the goal higher.

I don’t believe it matters which approach you take. What does matter is that do it. Write them down and choose to take action every day to reach them. Give yourself permission to have an expectancy that your goal will happen. If you don’t do that, it’s nothing more than a writing exercise.

Work on Your Goals Every Day

Ensure you do something every day to move your life forward. Make a choice today that each and every day, you will do something, if even a little thing that moves your personal and professional life forward.

What do you want your life to look and feel like two-years from now? Five-years from now? Do you want that time to look like yesterday…or a satisfying tomorrow? A little step is still a step forward. Even with baby steps, they progressively increase your ability to walk across America.

Keep walking and you will arrive.
